JCR and logosOperated by the British Antarctic Survey, mobile measuring dependent on the operational duties of the James Clark Ross. Typically each year will travel to Halley via Ascension and Falklands and return to the UK as well as several research voyages into the Arctic.

Operational since Q2 2012 the Picarro G2301 gives 5 second measurements of CO2 and CH4 which are averaged to minute, hourly and daily values. The instrument is calibrated every 7 days and a target gas sampled every 2 days.

Bag sampling occurs during certain campaigns depending upon location and science team.
